A forged memo bearing the Barranquilla mayor’s seal and tax ID has exploded online, listing alleged capacities and prices in dollars for each Metropolitano sector for the Sudamericana final. Could a fake document really set ticket rates?

It’s worth noting that CONMEBOL announced ticket sales for the match between Boca Juniors and Atlético Mineiro, but then postponed the launch to an undisclosed later date.
Nevertheless, the bogus ticket image spread on platforms like X, showing false rates ranging from USD 90 for North and South stands up to USD 1,500 for box seats.
Official spokespeople and local officials have confirmed that the claim is completely false; in my view, this hoax only fuels unnecessary panic.
The mayor’s office has no authority to set, sell, or regulate prices for international tournament tickets.

Thus, CONMEBOL alone manages ticket logistics, sale dates, and final pricing through its official channels.
Authorities urged the public to refrain from sharing out‑of‑context or fabricated posts, avoid advance payments to unknown parties, and rely solely on CONMEBOL’s official networks and authorized vendors to dodge scams.
They also stressed that only CONMEBOL will authorize ticket sales for the Sudamericana final.
