At the Arena MRV, Atlético Mineiro smashed Montevideo City Torque 3-0 in the first‑leg semifinal of the 2026 Copa Sudamericana. Reinier opened the scoring, Bernard doubled the lead and Borbas sealed the rout. Could this be the decisive blow?

After Vasco da Gama edged Boca at La Bombonera, the remaining semi‑finalists prepared for the battle over the Barranquilla final spots.
The Brazilian side dominated at home, striking early. In the 23rd minute Tomás Cuello cut in from the right before Reinier finished calmly at the far post. Before halftime Bernard stretched the margin with a crisp shot to the near post.
Ten minutes from the final whistle, substitute Eduardo Domínguez introduced Thiago Borbas, who, after a slick team move, pushed the ball home from the six‑yard box to cap the demolition.
Perfect performance, gentlemen! Atlético Mineiro dazzled with fluid passing, and Uruguay’s Thiago Borbas clinched the third. In my view, their midfield mastery will dominate the return leg.
