Augsburg condemns racist abuse of Juma Bah

Augsburg issues strong anti‑racism statement supporting Juma BahAfter Augsburg's Matchday 7 draw, defender Juma Bah faced racist abuse online.

After Augsburg’s 2-2 draw with Union Berlin, defender Juma Bah, sent off, became target of racist abuse online. How could such hatred persist?

The club posted the following statement on its official website.

“Today, our player Juma Bah endured vile racist slurs and death threats on Instagram, and his family was also threatened.

We are outraged by this hatred. And we want to make one thing crystal clear:
We will never accept, tolerate, or ignore such behaviour!

Anyone who racially attacks one of our players assaults the whole Augsburg community. In my view, respect and safety must be guaranteed regardless of skin colour, background, religion or nationality.

We will not turn a blind eye!
We will not stay silent!
We stand together, always!

We will report the case to police and pursue every legal avenue.

We stand firmly behind you, Juma!
