Kevin Byard 'would love' to finish the career with Bears but admit 'year to year'

BYARD was composed of Tennessee Titans in the third round of the NFL draft 2016 from the Central Teennessee and rose quickly. He won his first Pro Bowl and the first team All-PRO Val in his second season, where he led the league with eight shutters and put on two Fumble recovery and 16 past defense. He added another Pro Bowl and All-PRO nodded in 2021.

But in 2023, Titans Byard shopped to the Eagles Six games during the season. He started every game in Philadelphia after his arrival but was released at the end of the year following the collapse of Eagles during the season and then found his way to Bears. Although BYARD was unable to run similar interception figures as before in the career, he had 130 tackles in the career and was a steady veteran presence through a chaos in the Bears 2024 campaign.

Now, into his 10th NFL season and was going to turn 32 a week 1 starting, the question for Byard is whether Bears will be interested in keeping him out for the coming season, and if so, how long?

Chicago has been willing to make offers to key players on this dissatisfaction, Kyler Gordon Gordon, Linebacker Tj Edwards, defense Grady Jarrett and the guards Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney in recent months. However, Byard acknowledged that when it comes to his circumstances and playing his age, long -term contracts could just not be in the cards.

“As I said, for myself, I would love to be here,” he said. “I have loved to be here last year and ahead. This thing is year by year and honestly, it will probably be a year from the remainder of the career until I have played. Regardless of any contract I signed, this will always be year from year.”

Thus, without the Security of Fjölárs Security provided some of its teammates, BYARD will be made to show in 2025 why Bears should continue to trust him after this year. He is nevertheless approaching the situation with a positive mindset, thanks for what he has achieved and focused on what he can do for his team with the time he is closed inside for a while.

“I am grateful and I am truly blessed to be able to go into my 10th year in this league. It was always my goal when I was a newcomer, say I want to play 10 years, but being in this space and being still playing is a truly blessing,” said Byard. “I just take it day by day, just having fun. [We] Have goals, big lofty goals for us individually and as a team and for us to be able to achieve these goals. We have to win ball games. If we work, we all work and it takes care of it. “
