New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo’s weekend stunt left coach John Harbaugh in disbelief, but not for the reasons you’d expect.
In a candid interview with the Bleav in Giants podcast, Harbaugh expressed his concern over Skattebo’s reckless move and couldn’t help but crack a joke.
“Dude, at least keep it,” Harbaugh laughed, as he recalled his initial reaction. “If you’re going to take a risk, make sure you land safely,” he added.
While Harbaugh’s lighthearted tone was fitting given Skattebo’s unscathed recovery, the coach’s attitude may change if his player suffers another injury.
Fortunately, Skattebo is on the road to recovery after a broken tibia and dislocated right ankle in October. He’s expected to be ready for training camp.
Harbaugh is confident in Skattebo’s readiness, saying, “He’s been working hard, training like crazy, and his mind is on camp. He’s healthy, he’s ready to roll.”
