He set the tone on the first play and also seemed to have packed the victory when he runs Smith for a 11 -meter loss of fourth and 3 with 3:51 to the game and the chargers that stood after the final stage.
Los Angles immediately returned the ball on Fumble, but the chargers kept strong for the rolls.
“We are lucky to have him,” said Justin Herbert, LA team manager, about Henley. “He is a true competitor and we know how bad he feels. But for him to meet and give us his best effort like this, he is a true leader in this team.”
At the end of the game, Henley had played all 65 defense for a charger, which was only matching Safeties Derwin James and Alohi Gilman.
He had his flu game and gave even more reason to believe that he was possible all-pro in shaping. Henley, who was a 2023 NFL draft of the third round of a previous charger, did not have the beginning as a rookie. That changed in 2024 with Harbaugh at the control. Henley started all 17 games and opened 147 tackles. He has had plenty of promises and hopes for the current campaign and so far has returned, like the chargers with a 2-0 start.
However, this was one to remember for Henley.
It was possible that he would not play when the day began and that the outcome of the night he had fixed all the malice with a star performance.
“Daiyan Henley, we raised another line trays because we just didn’t know,” Harbaugh said. “Had a fever, but when he started playing, the drug was out there. It was out there on the field and it was great to see him own the game he had. He is a growing star, you know, a big star. Just happy with him. Playing amazingly, like almost everyone in our defense.”
