Jets WR Garrett Wilson 'shocked' by trade but trusts front office: 'I don't get paid to have a vision'

Jets coach Aaron Glenn and Jets general manager Darren Mougey are the men being paid to have a vision of what a winning football club should look like. Obviously, after a 1-7 start, they saw no way forward as currently constructed. The hope is that the future acquisitions — including three more players over the next two years — will give Gang Green a foundation to turn things around.

For Wilson, it was hard to watch his teammates go, especially Gardner. The duo was drafted together, won the Offensive Player of the Year award together and signed new contract extensions a day apart this offseason. They are no longer connected at the hip.

“My feelings, like that side of it, I hate it, I hate it, you know what I’m saying?” Wilson said. “I play football. I play with my brothers. I get to know my brothers. I hate it, but I get paid to play football. Nobody cares if I hate it. Go grab the ball. You know what I’m saying? That’s the way I see it.”

Garrett hasn’t caught a pass since Week 7 and missed the last two games with a knee injury. He has been limited in practice this week.
