Jayden Daniels out to "eliminate" a tendency to avoid a downturn in year 2

The fear of another slump has bitten many other years of star.

Last season, the newcomer of the year CJ Stroud fought through the year 2. In the past season, other winners Oroy have similarly taken a step back. Garrett Wilson, Ja’marr Chase, Saquon Barkley and Dak Prescott, to name a few, each statistically received their second period.

It is a list that Washington QB and dominant Oroy, Jayden Daniels, are continuing.

“I sit down and watch a movie and try to eliminate some tendencies, as much as possible,” Daniels told Jori Epstein from Yahoo Sports this week. “Talking to the coaches in areas that they feel like I need to improve and have conversations so we can all get full speed.”

In his first year, Daniels flipped the script for the right to vote, which was leading the bottom of the league. Statistically, he finished with a 69 percent finishing ratio, 3,568 meters, 25-9 contact surfaces to a heartfelt and 100.1 point level. The double threat also won 891 rush meters and set newcomer records for QB and six rush points.

For team leaders, the second year can be a product of defense coaches who get more films, take away their tendency and force them to work with answers two and three. In some cases, the environment can dance. We saw a Stroud fight for a porous offensive line in a fraction that eventually got the supervisor.

In addition to eliminating personal tendencies, Daniels know that in order to take a step forward, not again, in 2025, the commanders and Kliff Kingsbury will play a key role. The manager’s job is to help make life easier for the young tag call and help him find the right answers to the defense strategies that he is sure to see.

Daniels said Kingsbury is an egoless and does a great job to ensure that QB is comfortable with every call in the playbook.

“He wanted me to be as comfortable as possible,” Daniels said. “We had conversations like,” I didn’t like it “or” I don’t like it. “He might have argued a little, but in the end he wouldn’t call a play that I wasn’t comfortable with. “

To prevent Sophomore’s slump, the commanders buffed their young label. They updated the offensive line, including trade with Senate Laremy Tunsil and selected Josh Conerly Jr. in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. And Washington traded for the multi -use width of Deebo Samuel to pair with Terry McLaurin.

On paper, the commanders have the works for Daniels to avoid that second year toboggan. We will see if it applies this fall on the table.
