After Russell Wilson led by Giants, failed to score touchdown in Open Week 1, the knives were out for the former team manager.
With a newcomer in the first round, Jaxson Dart was waiting in the wings, was the time to ban the Super Bowl champion Wilson for the benefit of Green Master?
Giants coach Brian Daboll quickly threw cold water on that idea and told reporters on Monday that Wilson will start Game 2 in week 2 on Sunday against the cowboy.
It sounds like Wilson could hold in the starting position for a while too.
New York does not want to be a reaction to their handling of the team manager and are “trying to be patient” with Wilson, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Sunday NFL Gameday Morning.
“However – and this is big – everyone knows that Jaxson Dart is coming, maybe sooner or later,” Rapoport added.
Like week 1, Giants have a pack of plays for darts that they could use against Dallas. Dart did not see snap against the Washington commanders in Open More despite the availability of such a package.
“Once he has come there, if he has succeeded, it’s all in the air,” said Rapoport about Dart, “because he could simply be in.”
