New York’s rematch with the Eagles has been marred by an injury to one of the club’s bright young stars.
Giants quarterback Cam Skattebo sprained his ankle in the second quarter Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, was ejected shortly before halftime and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, the team announced.
Skattebo was brought to the ground awkwardly by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun on a catch attempt, causing his foot to get caught in the grass at Lincoln Financial Field and bend awkwardly under him. His teammates looked rightly bewildered as he was hauled off with a gash on his right leg.
The rookie RB had 12 rushing yards, 18 receiving yards and a touchdown reception and New York was down 14-7 when he left. Tyrone Tracy Jr. slated to take on the bulk of the quarterbacking, with Devin Singletary also in line for more carries.
