Atlanta has seen some key veteran defensive backs leave in free agency, but Ulbrich envisions Walker being more involved to showcase his versatility as linebacker Kaden Ellis signs with the Saints as a free agent. In 17 games, Ellis thrived in his role with the Falcons with 107 combined tackles, 10 QB hits, 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and one interception.
Walker, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2025 draft, was a reliable pass rusher in his rookie season behind James Pearce. Despite missing two games with a groin injury, Walker had 5.5 sacks, nine QB hits, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 15 games for the Falcons.
The Falcons and Ulbrich hope Walker’s versatility could take Atlanta’s defense to another level in 2026.
