Isack Hadjar to make Red Bull return at F1 Azerbaijan GPIsack Hadjar will return to Red Bull for this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku after recovering from a wrist injury, as Liam Lawson moves back to...

Isack Hadjar is set to rejoin Red Bull for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku after healing his wrist, while Liam Lawson returns to Racing Bulls.

The French rookie injured his wrist during summer testing and was advised to stay off the wheel. Consequently, Lawson took his Red Bull seat from the Dutch Grand Prix, and reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda moved into Lawson’s former spot.

Hadjar sat out three rounds to focus on recovery, allowing Lawson to keep the Red Bull car for the Italian and Spanish Grands Prix, with Tsunoda continuing to cover the Racing Bulls vacancy.

Lawson amassed 14 points across his three starts, missing out only at Monza after power‑unit penalties and a front‑wing damage from contact with Nico Hülkenberg. Tsunoda finished tenth in that race and had nearly scored at Zandvoort before Pierre Gasly overtook him for the final point.

Red Bull thanked Lawson for his professionalism, dedication and hard work over the three races. In my view, his performances under pressure were genuinely impressive and added real value to the team.

Hadjar makes his first F1 outing since the Hungarian Grand Prix in July, and his season tally rose after his Monaco third place was reinstated.

McLaren and Red Bull successfully appealed the post‑race reversal of Pierre Gasly’s two five‑second pit‑lane speeding penalties, restoring Hadjar to the podium.

The Frenchman also consulted MotoGP champion Marc Márquez, who broke his arm in 2020 and aggravated it by returning too soon, later needing several surgeries on the same limb.

Márquez told Hadjar, “I learned that skipping one race won’t ruin your career, but worsening an injury by racing early can change your life.”
