Hadjar says wrist still limited but “good enough” after inju

Isack Hadjar jokes about doing a good job on the couch during his injury layoffRed Bull’s Isack Hadjar says his wrist isn’t fully back but feels “good enough” after injury.

Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar admits his wrist still isn’t fully mobile, yet he deems his condition “good enough” after a layoff.

The 22‑year‑old missed the Dutch, Italian and Spanish Grands Prix after fracturing his wrist during the summer break.

He made his comeback at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where he clinched third place.

On the official Beyond The Grid podcast recorded at Baku, Hadjar confessed his range of motion hasn’t fully returned.

“No,” he answered when asked about full movement. “Good enough. I spent a full day on the simulator on Monday, doing over 100 laps.”

He added, “My priority is how the car feels and the pain level—we manage that. I won’t tweak the steering wheel. I’ve adapted completely and don’t want any changes.”

The injury caught the young driver off guard; he’d never broken a bone before.

“The next morning I woke up feeling limited and in pain. I never imagined it was a fracture—I’ve never broken anything in my life.”

“When the team told me I’d be out for weeks, I thought, ‘I have a race in five days—what now?’ It was a huge shock.”

Hadjar quipped that he did a “good job” on the couch, noting his Monaco podium was reinstated and he earned a contract extension with the Milton Keynes team. For my money, his calm attitude proves true professionalism.

“I think I did a very good job on the couch – I earned a podium and a new deal,” he said. “I’m not a wildcard; I’m here for the long haul and grateful for the team’s trust during this tough stretch.”
