Dolphins activate Darren Waller (pectoral) off injured reserve; TE playing against the Saints

The Miami Dolphins are getting their red zone weapon back for the 2025 season.

Darren Waller (thorax) is being activated from injured reserve and will play Sunday’s home game against the New Orleans Saints, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Saturday.

Waller, who retired to join the Dolphins in 2025, has not played since Week 7 after suffering a chest injury. The injury halted Waller’s comeback after he had 10 receptions for 117 yards and four touchdowns in three games.

After missing the last four games, Waller’s return coincides with the Dolphins’ attempt to salvage their season.

Miami has won three of its last four games and enters Sunday’s matchup against a struggling Saints team coming off the bye week. The Dolphins defense has stepped up their game in that time, and Waller’s presence figures to do the same for Tua Tagovailoa and Co.

The Dolphins (4-7) open against the Saints (2-9) at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday.
