Questions about why Washington’s brightest star was tied for the game seemingly surfaced when the 24-year-old walked off the court with his left arm in the air. After Sunday night’s loss, Quinn said there was no discussion about pulling Daniels out of the loss, but understood it would have made sense in hindsight.
One time later, Quinn was in front of reporters and expressed his regret for not taking Daniels out of the game after the Chiefs’ earlier drive.
Quinn confirmed Daniels’ injury diagnosis but had no timetable for the star quarterback’s recovery.
“It’ll knock him out for a while,” Quinn added.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Daniels is expected to miss several games.
Daniels’ injury wasn’t the only setback for Washington on Sunday night. Quinn also confirmed Monday that cornerback Marshon Lattimore tore his ACL and wide receiver Luke McCaffrey suffered a broken collarbone, also potentially season-ending injuries.
Quinn’s second season in Washington is quickly winding down as the Chiefs sit at 3-6. Daniels’ bruised elbow is the third injury in 2025 that will force a QB to miss time, and it’s one injury his head coach believes could have been easily prevented.
