Daniel Jones was added to the injury report in Week 12 with a fibula injury, which he played through in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
It turns out the Indianapolis Colts quarterback is dealing with a broken fibula, NFL Networks insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.
Rapoport added that it’s an injury that Jones isn’t concerned about, according to the source.
Jones is having an incredible turnaround season with the Colts, as the 2019 New York Giants first-round pick has led Indianapolis to an 8-3 start and first place in the AFC South. Jones came out of the Giants last year before spending time with the Minnesota Vikings and signing this offseason with Indy, beating out Anthony Richardson for the starting job. He’s been running with it ever since, captaining the Colts to a great season so far.
Jones has thrown for 2,840 yards, 17 touchdowns (his most since his rookie season), seven interceptions and has completed a career-best 69.1% of his passes with a career QB rating of 101.4.
Jones was listed as limited in Wednesday’s practice ahead of Sunday’s big game against the reigning two-time division champion Houston Texans.
Jones’ situation is definitely something to keep an eye on for Week 13 and beyond.
