Colts QB Anthony Richardson (trauma) returns to practice after two months out

Anthony Richardson is returning after a two month absence.

The Indianapolis Colts are opening Richardson’s 21-day practice window, coach Shane Steichen announced Thursday, marking the quarterback’s return to the field after suffering a concussion in pregame warmups on Oct. 11.

“As I mentioned last week, Anthony is back to working out, but he still has some vision loss in his eye,” Steichen told reporters. “So we’re going to get him back on the practice field, get him pitching, do some scouting reps. It’s just something he’s going to have to manage through the process.”

Richardson has been on the bench since suffering the freak injury, which required surgery. After Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn Achilles, the Colts retired Philip Rivers, 44, and replaced rookie Riley Leonard.
