Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert underwent successful surgery on his non-throwing left hand on Monday and is day-to-day, the team announced.
Herbert, however, is set to play in his team’s Week 14 game against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, NFL Networks insider Ian Rapoport reported earlier Monday.
“Justin Herbert underwent successful surgery in Los Angeles today to stabilize a broken bone in his left hand,” the statement read. “Herbert’s return to action is considered day-to-day and his status for Monday’s game against Philadelphia will be determined later this week.”
Herbert was injured in the Chargers’ win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday but only missed a few snaps. Although there is a full week of practice ahead of the Chargers against the Eagles on Monday, Dec. 8, Herbert is focused on playing in the game, Rapoport said.
