Brissett’s strong play in relief could factor into Arizona’s Week 9 decision.
The veteran backup has produced 275-plus passing yards in his two starts, leading a Cardinals offense that averaged 25.0 points and 365 total yards per game in Weeks 6 and 7.
Murray hasn’t had more than 220 passing yards in any of his five starts, and the Cardinals offense has been less explosive with 20.6 PPG and 288.4 total YPG in that span.
Arizona lost the last two games Brissett started, but he’ll get a great chance to keep his offense going against a Cowboys defense that has allowed 31.3 PPG and 404.6 YPG, both of which rank 31st in the league.
With Brissett at the helm, the Cardinals (2-5) look to snap a five-game losing streak Monday night in Dallas.
