The Arizona Cardinals are placing quarterback Kyler Murray on reserve because of a lingering foot injury, head coach Jonathan Gannon said Wednesday.
The move to IR will sideline Murray for a minimum of four games, pushing Jacoby Brissett for a long stretch as QB1 in the desert.
Murray was injured in Arizona’s Week 5 loss to the Titans and has missed the past three games.
Gannon on Tuesday declared Brissett the team’s starting quarterback for their Week 10 game against the Seattle Seahawks, a move Gannon said would give the team “clarity” heading into the game as Murray focused on recovery.
That recovery time now will last at least week 13.
