The Cleveland Browns are hiring former Baltimore Ravens offensive line coach Todd Monken as their next head coach, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported Wednesday, according to sources.
Monken, 59, spent the past three years as OC under John Harbaugh in Baltimore. The veteran assistant will now return to Cleveland, where he served as OC in 2019 under then-head coach Freddie Kitchens.
This will be Monken’s first NFL head coaching gig. He previously served as the head coach at Southern Mississippi from 2013-15.
Cleveland fired former coach Kevin Stefanski on Jan. 5 after posting a 5-12 record in his sixth season at the helm.
