Cleveland has found its Jim Schwartz replacement.
The Browns are hiring Falcons defensive pass coordinator Mike Rutenberg as their defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insiders’ Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo report.
Rutenberg takes over a talented defense after Schwartz resigned following the hiring of new head coach Todd Monken.
The 44-year-old was a key part of coaching Atlanta’s pass defense last season, which began the year as one of the league’s best against opposing quarterbacks and finished 13th in yards allowed.
