Bills trade veteran CB Taron Johnson to Raiders for 2026 sixth round pick

Bills trade veteran CB Taron Johnson to Raiders for 2026 sixth round pick

Since arriving in Buffalo as a fourth-round pick in 2018, Johnson has played a plug-and-play role for the Bills. In 2023, Johnson had a career year playing all 17 regular season games for Sean McDermott’s defense to help Buffalo to an 11-6 record and win the AFC East.

In 2025, Johnson played in 11 games (eight starts) and recorded 57 tackles, one tackle for loss and four passes defensed. Johnson’s season earned him a 60.5 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, which ranked 66th out of 114 qualified cornerbacks.

After trading Maxx Crosby to Baltimore, the Raiders are addressing a need on a defense that struggled last season.

The Raiders are in rebuilding mode, and Johnson will become part of Las Vegas’ future after Sunday’s trade.
