Allen is coming off a tough loss to Texas in which he threw two interceptions, and he has thrown for under 215 yards in five of his 11 starts. Khalil Shakir leads the team with 54 receptions and 564 yards. Strong Dalton Kincaid, who has four touchdowns, has been sorely missed the past two weeks sidelined with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, 2024 second-round pick Keon Coleman is second on the team in receptions (32) but has been healthy for two straight weeks.
Cooks, now part of the sixth team of his NFL career, will hopefully blend in quickly to shore up the scoring. Should he prove to be a capable addition down the stretch, perhaps he could even approach the 10,000-yard mark; he now sits at 9,697 yards and 60 TDs on 729 career receptions.
