Soccer might be on the rise in Canada and the US, but that doesn’t mean every fan knows a lot about the team they’re rooting for.
Fans attending the first game at BC Place in Vancouver wore Canadian colours, unaware of the team’s star players walking among them.
The day before, Canada drew 1-1 with Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto before moving to Vancouver for their next two matches.

Canadian stars, including Alphonso Davies and Ali Ahmed, arrived to a hero’s welcome in Vancouver and headed to BC Place for the match.
Davies wore a disguise to join fans on the walk to the stadium, posting a video of a fan wearing his shirt before confronting another in the concourse.
Unfortunately, the fan had no idea that Davies was standing in front of them, smiling awkwardly as he continued through the stadium.

Canada returned to the field for a practice closed to the media and will prepare for Thursday’s match against Qatar.
Davies did not play in the opening match due to a hamstring strain but went through sprints with his teammates and could return for the next game.
