Any hopes of Michael Olise becoming a big hit at Real Madrid this summer seem to have ended before they really started.
According to German transfer insider Christian Falk, Bayern Munich have made it abundantly clear that the France international is not available, regardless of the size of any potential offer.
Speaking on the Bayern Insider podcast, Bild’s head of football spoke about Real Madrid’s reported interest in Olise and revealed Bayern’s uncompromising stance on the player’s future.
“There is no chance of Michael Olise leaving in this transfer window,” Falk said. “The club has made it very clear to the player.
Bayern are not going to sell
Falk explained that Bayern see Olise as a key part of their long-term project and expect him to remain in Munich beyond the current transfer window.
“The French international will stay at Bayern until the summer,” he said. “Maybe Bayern will win the Champions League next season and then Olise will decide he wants a new challenge. You never know. But for now he’s staying.”
The comments effectively shut down speculation about a potential move to the Santiago Bernabéu this summer, despite reports linking the winger with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez’s plans for the club’s next season.
Strong relationship between the clubs
According to Falk, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are fully on the same page and have agreed not to continue any talks about Olise in the current transfer window.
The journalist highlighted the strong relationship between the two European giants, noting that mutual respect had played an important role in avoiding any transfer.
“I want to emphasize once again that both clubs are in a very close relationship,” explained Falk. “They have agreed that nothing will happen regarding Olise this summer.”
A door left open for the future?
While a transfer has been ruled out for now, Falk indicated that a future move cannot be completely ruled out.
“If something were to come up, Florentino Pérez has already promised Herbert Hainer that he would contact him first before taking any measures related to the player or his representatives,” he said.
For now, however, Bayern’s message is unequivocal: Michael Olise will remain in Munich and Real Madrid will have to look elsewhere if they are to add another superstar to their squad this summer.
