Broncos LB Nik Bonitto plans to become ‘a better player than I was last year’

Broncos LB Nik Bonitto plans to become 'a better player than I was last year'

Bonitto spent most of the season with a bandage on his injured wrist, which he had surgery on following the campaign. The 26-year-old said the injury could have affected his game.

“It was really a little bit of everything,” Bonitto said. “It was just trying to work through the whole wrist. Not being able to have … having the cast, it kind of takes away a lot of stuff you can do. Hard to throw; hard to catch; all those things.”

The winger also added that he has seen a change in how offenses approach him.

“That was a game plan, too,” Bonitto said. “Getting doubles more, getting chips and cutting more. It was all those things in combination as it was a learning curve for me as I continue to grow in my career.”

Bonitto earned a four-year, $106 million contract extension last September. Now the sports enthusiast has come to prove that he is worth the big money. If he can stay healthy, another career in sacks should be on the way.
