Bills WR DJ Moore buys out the store’s entire inventory of his shirts to give away to fans

New Bills WR DJ Moore admits to 'growing pains' in Buffalo, confident 'it'll be perfect later'

Before even playing his first game in Buffalo, DJ Moore is already making a splash with Bills fans.

Acquired this offseason in a trade from the Chicago Bears, Moore was recently shopping at a Buffalo-area mall when he spotted shirts with his name and number on them. Without telling the store who he was, the bouncer bought all 27 shirts for $1,200 and told the store to give them away for free to any fan who came looking for DJ Moore shirts.

Tee Shirt University assistant coach Scot Marshall told WKBW he did not know Moore.

“He says, ‘OK, I’m buying it.’ I’m like, ‘What? Do you know the guy or work for him? ‘ and he’s like, ‘Yeah, I work for him,'” Marshall said. “He’s kidding. So he buys them, he says, “I’m going to leave them all here, if somebody comes and wants one, just tell them, DJ Moore bought it for them.” And then he walks out the door and sticks his head back in and says, “Yeah, it’s me.” And he just walks away and that was a very good thing he did.”

The store did not advertise Moore’s charity; instead, it simply displayed the shirts with a $0.00 price tag and a note that said, “This shirt was paid for by DJ Moore!”

Marshall said Moore’s generosity fits in well with the Western New York community.

“It means a lot. I mean, it shows that he cares. He’s loved the community so far. So yeah, he’s just a really good guy, and that’s the kind of athlete we usually get in the city,” Marshall said.
