The New York Giants signed general manager Joe Schoen to a multiyear contract extension, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network Insiders reported Thursday.
Schoen’s extension comes after a rocky first four years as Big Blue GM, where New York went 22-45-1 with a lone playoff trip in Schoen’s first year at the helm. The team opted to keep Schoen after the 2025 season, when head coach Brian Daboll was fired amid a 4-13 run.
Schoen then led the search for the team’s new head coach, John Harbaugh.
Although the reporting will be notably different than in years past, with Harbaugh announcing ownership rather than Schoen, New York has enough confidence to maintain stability in the front office for the next few seasons as the Giants hope to enter a new, more successful era going forward.
About the NFL will have more shortly.
