Dolphins QB Malik Willis "would have loved" to play with WR Jaylen Waddle


When Malik Willis signed with the Miami Dolphins this offseason, it gave him his first real opportunity to be a full-time starting quarterback since being drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2022.

But it’s also a different Dolphins team than the one he joined in March. Willis signed with Miami on March 9. Just over a week later, the Dolphins traded their No. 1 receiver. 1, Jaylen Waddle, to the Denver Broncos.

Not having Waddle significantly changes the Dolphins’ offensive capabilities. Willis said he would have loved to have Waddle to pitch but that the decision to trade him was not his to make.

“It was certainly unfortunate, to say the least,” Willis said Tuesday of Dolphins OTAs. “This is a very good player and I would have loved to play with him, but it’s above my pay grade, bro.
