Two-time Super Bowl champion Kyle Van Noy isn’t ready to call it a career after 12 seasons.
The 35-year-old told *Up & Adams* on Tuesday that he has more left in the tank.
“I’m very motivated,” he said. “I didn’t like how last year went for me personally and for the team that I was on. So, I’m just encouraged for all the people that think I’m done and all that stuff, because career-wise I didn’t have the best season. There’s guys that I’ve looked up to later in my career, like Cam Jordan, didn’t have a good season and then had a 5th season. I’m going to get double-digit sacks for whoever comes and that’s my mentality and I’m excited whatever team wants to sign me, you can say whatever you want — nobody wants that 35-year-old.
In 2025, Van Noy had two sacks in 15 games against a Baltimore Ravens defense that struggled to reach the quarterback.
A perennially underrated player, he looked like he’d lost a step early in 2024, before finding his feet and earning a Pro Bowl with 12.5 sacks. The roller coaster of aging is real. The question clubs have to ask is will they pay for the 12 sack Van Noy or the 2 sack guy?
“It’s been my whole career. I’ve been underrated my whole career and I’m going to continue to wake people up,” Van Noy said. “… I truly believe I’ve been underrated in my football career. Not a lot of people can play 12 years in the NFL and be successful. I feel like I’ve been successful in my career and I’m going to continue to be in this 13th season. I think it follows, not cockiness, you have to have confidence to play this game, I also feel like I’m a great teammate. who has questions about life and football, I truly believe that I can help a team win.”
Van Noy said he spoke with the Seattle Seahawks before they agreed to a contract with Dante Fowler. He also said he is open to a possible return to Baltimore under new coach Jesse Minter. His preferred destination: San Francisco.
“I want to throw a team that a lot of people might not know,” Van Noy said. “Who cares at this point, you know? I really want to play with my little brother, Fred Warner, with the Niners. I think they’re cooking something there. I know they love Joey Bosa, right, because Nick and all that, I get it. But I’d love to play with my little brother. That’s my boy, and I think they’ve got something cooking there.”
The Niners added Romello Height in the third round and get Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams back from injury, but there’s room for a veteran rotation player, maybe two, depending on cost and talent.
If Van Noy wants to keep playing, he’ll eventually get a job, though it’s likely to come much closer to the start of the season, if not after Week 1. NFL teams always need help, and injuries are inevitable. The wily Super Bowl champion may not be as flashy as he once was, but he can still bring some pop and could help a team with playoff hopes.
