Ravens’ Eric DeCosta: RB Adam Randall was Steve Bisciotti’s first draft pick

Ravens' Eric DeCosta: RB Adam Randall was Steve Bisciotti's first draft pick

The Baltimore Ravens had a number of picks in the 2026 NFL draft, so general manager Eric Decosta figured he might as well let team owner Steve Bisciotti make one.

It was a first for Bisciotti, who has owned the club since 2004. Given the opportunity to advance through the draft, he selected Clemson quarterback Adam Randall in the fifth round (No. 174 overall).

“Adam Randall is an interesting option,” general manager Eric DeCosta said Saturday, according to a team release. “You’ll probably see the video at some point — that’s the first pick Steve Bisciotti ever made. So when we were down in Florida, Steve was asking for a pick and he’s got the team. I said, ‘Yeah, Steve. Of course you can draft.” And then we decided to make our last fifth-round pick. He did his research. He studied the tape and talked to people. He has a very good relationship with Clemson head coach (Dabo Swinney).”

Although Bisciotti ultimately made the call, DeCosta was also impressed with Randall, noting the quarterback’s versatility.

“Adam is a former wide receiver guy. He’s versatile,” DeCosta said. “He does a lot of different things well. We think the best is going to come with him as a quarterback. He’s got really good hands. He can run routes. He’s a potential quarterback — a special team player. He’s got a great body and good measurables, and we’re excited to see what he can do. He’s kind of a ‘jackknife.’ He’s a tremendous kid. We think [he’s] one of the best makeups in this draft.”
