Stephen Jones: Cowboys haven't received calls about potential trade for George Pickens

Getting no call interest and not being interested in trading it are two separate thoughts. So far, there has been no indication that the Cowboys are close to a multi-year extension with the wideout.

The franchise is due to pay Pickens $27.29 million in 2026. Owner Jerry Jones said at the league’s annual meeting in March that the club has long-term plans for the wide receiver.

Dallas’ tendency to drag its feet in overtime could prolong the situation. A year ago, negotiations with Micah Parsons broke down, leading to a blockbuster trade to Green Bay. The Cowboys have until July 15 to work out an extension with Pickens or he will play out the season on a one-year deal.

The 2026 NFL Draft gives the Cowboys one chance to flip Pickens for a pick. However, they would have to get some interest first. The wideout would also have to sign his franchise tender in order to be traded.
