Lamar Jackson “definitely” wants three-time Pro Bowler Jadeveon Clowney back with the Ravens

Lamar Jackson "definitely" wants three-time Pro Bowler Jadeveon Clowney back with the Ravens

“They pride themselves on their defense,” Clowney told KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson recently. “I felt good in the locker room. The guys in the locker room were a lot of fun guys. There were a lot of leaders on that team, a lot of people who respect the game of football.

“They got a lot of good guys that I can relate to in that locker room. I’ll definitely be open to going back to Baltimore and playing with Lamar Jackson now. It was a great time for me.”

Now 33, Clowney’s time with the Texans spanned from 2014 to 2018, earning three consecutive Pro Bowls in his final three seasons with the club. Since then, Clowney has embarked on a winding NFL journey, playing in both conferences, five divisions and for six teams, with the 2021-2022 run for the Cleveland Browns his only multi-year stint.

In 2023, he joined Jackson and the Ravens and appeared in 17 games for the first and only time of his career, with 15 starts, a career-best 9.5 sacks, 43 tackles, six pass breakups and a pair of forced fumbles.

Coming off a terrifying 8.5 sack campaign for the Dallas Cowboys in 2025, Clowney believes he is still ready and eager to wreak havoc on the edge, which would come against Trey Hendrickson. In perhaps the biggest story of the offseason, the Ravens agreed to a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Baltimore’s Maxx Crosby.

Hendrickson admitted he had expectations playing against Crosby. Maybe adding another Pro Bowler to the Ravens pass rush wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

“It usually is for me,” Clowney said after practice. “The usual, the whole season. Come in, keep going. I had a lot left in the tank. I don’t know if other people know, but I know, I can keep proving it to people and go out there and show people I’m going to do it.”
