Browns QB Shedeur Sanders switches from 12 to 2 next season

He will take the field in the new jersey, hoping to turn things around after a so-so rookie season. Although he finished the 2025 campaign as Cleveland’s starting QB and made the Pro Bowl as a backup, Sanders threw for just 175 yards per game while posting a 3-4 record with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Browns coach Todd Monken told NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero during Monday’s conference call that the team hasn’t “got that far yet” when asked if Sanders will retain his QB1 position in Cleveland’s offseason.

Now with a new number to go with his new coach in Monken, Sanders is next to fight through the spring to make sure he keeps his old role.
