Jurgens’ injury was one of several that Philly dealt with last season, leading to questions about the future of the group, with Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson rumored to be considering retirements. However, both decided to return for at least one more run at another Lombardi. The expectation in the 2026 draft is for the Eagles to select potential future starters to take over.
While the brutal injury has prompted Jurgens, who penned a contract extension last season, to consider his longevity “a bit”, the 26-year-old did not hint that he was looking to leave anytime soon.
“I love football and I want to play as long as I can and hopefully just keep playing in Philly,” Jurgens said. “There aren’t many better places to play football than at the Eagles.”
“It would just be nice to get through some deals. I don’t know. We’ll figure it out year by year. Right now I’m playing and I’m going to play as long as I can.”
