Fairbairn was prolific in 2025, converting 44 of 48 field goal attempts — both league marks — for a Houston team that relied on him to make sure late drives still produced points. It’s become a familiar role for Fairbairn of late: In 2024, he attempted 42 field goals and succeeded on 36 attempts.
Fairbairn, who went undrafted out of UCLA in 2017, has spent his entire career in Houston, appearing in 138 games and converting on 87.6% of his field goal attempts. He has been particularly effective in the 40-49 yard range over the last four seasons, nailing 31 of 33 attempts since the start of the 2022 season.
Fairbairn’s best year of his career earned him a new contract. With Aubrey still unsigned, we will see how long he remains the highest paid boot in the NFL.
