Texans CJ Stroud 'grateful' for playing tackle: 'I know somebody will see how I react'

With snow drifting around him and an abysmal stat line controlling the narrative, CJ Stroud’s season ended in disaster.

In a bowl disaster, Stroud threw four interceptions and his Houston Texans lost to the New England Patriots, 28-16.

Five weeks later, decked out in a tuxedo rather than a uniform, Stroud spoke of being “grateful for the suffering” when he took the stage Sunday at the Global Humanitarian Awards in Houston in an impromptu speech.

Bringing an overall message of faith and perseverance through the struggle, Stroud overcame his struggles in the postseason defeat.

“Obviously my last game didn’t go the way I wanted it to,” Stroud, sporting his new cropped haircut, said, via Fox26 Houston. “Obviously I wish I could play again, but I’m okay with suffering in front of people, because I know someone will see how I react. We’re all going to go through bad days, we’re all going to go through bad moments.
