Quinnen Williams: Jeffery Simmons could be Defensive Player of the Year under Robert Saleh

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Quinnen Williams knows exactly what Robert Saleh and defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton bring to the Tennessee Titans. The DT star believes the duo could help launch Jeffery Simmons to the moon.

“Jeffery Simmons could be the Defensive Player of the Year next year,” Williams told Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official website at the Pro Bowl earlier this month. “The ability he has and the things he does well, he’s already a tremendous player. And now to have the coaches around him that are going to help him even more, watch out.”

Saleh has helped build defenses wherever he has been. During his run in New York, he turned a terrible defense into a top-10 unit before being fired. Williams’ best seasons were under Saleh in New York – three consecutive Pro Bowls.

“I think he’s a tremendous head coach, a tremendous defensive coach, and he does things the right way,” Williams said of Saleh. “It’s going to be great to have him at Tennessee — the players love him, his enthusiasm, his personality, his mentality that he brings to the game. I know Jeff is going to love him.”
