Sirianni and Brown got into a bit of a dust-up on the sideline late in the second quarter after wide receiver and left tackle Jordan Mailata was late leaving the field on an incomplete third down. Television cameras caught the coach-receiver interaction, with Brown appearing to take exception to the coach’s animated reaction.
Sirianni dismissed the collusion.
“I was trying to get him off the field because we were going to bat and that was basically it,” he said. “I love AJ I think he knows how I feel about him. I have a special relationship with him. We probably do.” [gone] through every emotion you can possibly have together. We’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together, we’ve yelled at each other. We are both emotional. I was trying to get him off the field and that happens in this game. It happens in this game, but I love it.”
Brown declined to speak to reporters after the game.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the star wide receiver, who got off to a slow start and expressed his frustrations multiple times this offseason, both on social media and with local reporters. He finished the campaign with 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns on 78 catches in 15 regular season games.
As the frustrations of the season spill over into the postseason, Brown’s future appears up in the air heading into the 2026 offseason. Even if Sirianni and the Eagles say all the right things, there is definitely chatter about Philly potentially trading their star receiver in the coming months.
