‘Fussball’ is in mourning. German soccer player Sebastian Hertner (Leonberg, 1991) has died on 34 years of age after to fall from a chairlift.

According to ‘Bild’, one of the chairs got off the cable and moved to the side where Hertner was sitting, who was a member of the U19 national team with Germany. His wife was also seriously injured: she was stuck to the chair and broke her leg.“It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our captain Sebastian Hertner was involved in a fatal accident while on vacation.. We are stunned and deeply saddened. We send our condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace Sebastian,” announced his club, ETSV Hamburg.
In the conflict, which is under investigation, three other tourists were involved. Moreover, the station has been ordered to be temporarily closed.
During his career, Hertner, a Stuttgart youth playeralso played for Schalke (reserve), 1860 Munich, Erzgebirge Aue, Darmstadt, Lubeck, Turkgucu Munich, BFC Dynamo and Teutonia 05. He played 95 games in the second division but never made his debut in the top flight. Rest in peace.
