The first-year New York Jets coach endured an 0-7 start and has lost three straight, falling to 3-12. On Monday, Glenn preached patience to frustrated Gang Green fans who have endured 15 straight seasons without a playoff appearance and 10 consecutive campaigns with seven or fewer wins.
“For the fans, listen, it’s going to be a tough road,” he said, via ESPN. “We knew that, but man, the thing is, we know exactly what we’re doing. We’ve got a plan. Just don’t let go, I’d say.”
So far, that plan has been hard to see.
Sunday’s 29-6 loss to another rebuilding club in New Orleans underscored just how far the Jets are from contending. New York has regressed both offensively and defensively compared to last year’s five-win campaign.
“From day one, we’ve been trying to lay the foundation for what we want this team to be,” Glenn said. “A lot of it is mostly from an in-house perspective.
