Kansas City chiefs hit a 31-28 loss in Jacksonville and lost 14-0 lead with stinging concoction of mistakes, penalties and miss opportunities.
“Obviously, it sucks,” said Patrick Mahomes through ESPN. “You let a game slip away. It still sucks when you get the lead and you are not able to keep it.”
KC jumped into a 14-0 lead after consuming the Fumble goal line by Trevor Lawrence and walked 97 meters before contact. Then things went wrong.
Penalties that were uploaded, the defense could not slow down on Lawrence and a 99 meter interception return of Jaguars line bakener Devin Lloyd turned tides.

The end of the game is shaped by a penalty. Harrison Butker kicked the ball out of goal and gave Jags a great pitch for the final drive. Then Corner Chamarri Conner was flagged for past interruptions in the final area and set up a Jacksonville player.
“Whether I agree with them or do not agree with them, it doesn’t matter,” said Andy Reid, Chief coach of the penalties. “They call them. And so you have these many penalties, you give up a field position. You can stand them to death, but it doesn’t matter. It’s the stage that matters and we have to take care of business there.”
The rulers are falling to 2-3 and have lost a record through five games for only the second time in Mahomes. In 2021, they also started 2-3 before turning things into 12-5 and lost in the AFC Championship to Cincinnati.
