Buccaneers CB Jamel Dean explains a big salary cut: “It was just more like I feel good here”

Buccaneers CB Jamel Dean explains a big salary cut: "It was just more like I feel good here"

In a victory that opened the season at Atlanta, Dean made six tackles and three passports, but reduced potential interceptions.

“I thought from a person to a person’s point of view, this is the best news technology he has had since he has been here,” Todd Bowles coach said about Dean. “From a regional point of view there are some plays he wanted again. They were minor plays, but you would still like to have them again.

“But I thought he has competed at a very high level. He has been business since he has been here. He has been healthy. He has been helping the young boys come along, so he has been great.”

Bucs recently extended the fourth year corner Zyon McCollum. Newcomer Benjamin Morrison (other rings) and Jacob Parrish (the third round) are the next wave of defense in Tampa. The success of newcomers in the camp is probably what made Bucs convenient to approach Dean about pay cuts.

“It is good to have them there, though,” Dean said of newcomers. “They say they have been watching me since they were in high school. It’s crazy to hear that. I’m like,” Oh, guys, I’m getting so old, now? ” But it is good to have them there because it reminds me of the situation I was in when Richard Sherman came (to Bucs in 2021) and now the roles were turned around.
