As expected, Los Angeles Chargers formally back Najee Harris on an active/non -football list, the team announced on Thursday.
Harris suffered an eye injury during mishaps of fireworks on July 4. His agent, Doug Hendrickson, marked the injury “superficial.”
Chargers manager Joe Hortiz indicated on Wednesday afternoon that the club expected to put Harris on the NFI list, but that he had not yet reported at that time.
“We haven’t seen him yet, our doctors haven’t seen him yet,” Hortiz said on the team’s official website. “He is finishing his doctors’ dating, he will announce today. We will get his eyes on him.
“The surface injury, obviously around the eye, so I’m sure it’s bruise and all that. But we haven’t seen him. We will get more clarity when he comes here and our doctors see him, but we are in contact with the doctors there.”
