Tomlin came in during his 19th season with half Steelers and is looking to add a 10-7 show from last year as Pittsburgh lost his players for the fifth consecutive consecutive consecutive consecutive consecutive time.
Perhaps a change in approach will pay off in a long normal period ahead.
It certainly falls in line with the change in Steelers.
Pittsburgh replaces the foremost Rusher since last year, Najee Harris, for a newcomer to Kaleb Johnson. It traded a leading broad receiver (George Pickens) and traded to acquire DK Metcalf. And in transit that has been headed for months, the Future Hall of Fame signed Aaron Rodgers after a long wait for a long wait to replace Russell Wilson (New York Giants) and Justin Fields (New York Jets).
So far, since the only elder missed in Minicamp was All-Po. Pass Rusher TJ Watt, who is looking for an extension of a contract.
Tomlin told reporters on Tuesday that he wanted Watt to be there, but he was not surprised or too much worried about the absence of seven hours of Pro Bowler.
He emphasized the position and his belief that Steelers and their defense star would eventually come to an agreement before saying goodbye to the media for a month or so.
“I’m optimistic that we’re going to do things, because we’ve got two sides that want to do things when it will happen, I don’t know,” said Tomlin. “There have certainly been communication with him and his communication and I.”
One hoped that Watt and Steelers will have solved something when Steelers landed on a heatbox in the afternoon. If not, the heat and pressure for the steel men will come up in more ways than one.
