Newcomer Pittsburgh Steelers, who runs Kaleb Johnson, looks in the company with two of the best back guards in the NFL.
“I feel like I’m versatile again. I could be Derrick Henry again, or I could be Dalvin Cook again,” Johnson recently told the official website. “And I feel like it’s what understands me from a lot of back in the league and in this category I came into because I just feel like you know, overall. I feel like I’m a quick back and I could be strong back, also catching the ball in the back and being reliable.”
Johnson, who was one cut runner, blew himself in one year as Iowa’s starting squad. In 12 games in 2024, the top -back Hawkeyes flowed into 1,537 meters and 21 contact surfaces on 240 wagons in running breaks. Johnson also flashed in the team’s game and finished third in the team with 22 catch in 188 meters and two got, for example – based on how relatively Iowa threw the ball, that is a star production.
His speed-to-power mix has led to a comparison with Henry, with whom Johnson said he interacted with in the draft and encouraged him as a bigger back.
“I have sent him a text message and he has been sending me a text message. He has been very inspiring and really just telling me in and the exit in the league and stuff.
Asked if Henry, with competitor Baltimore, is okay with him being composed by Steelers, Johnson said: “I don’t know. I haven’t talked to him since,” he said, stirring.
Johnson is a runner in the hole hole, Johnson does not have much power, but he lands in the openings and skates through the arm. At 6 foot-1, 224 pounds, it has the size to withstand hits and exclude punishment.
As his 4.57 seconds 40 meters of line indicates, he does not have the top speed, but Johnson made plenty of big plays on Iowa thanks to Vision, Patience and runs through the first tackle. His second stage burst is good, even though he will not escape from many defense games.
The ability of Johnson to drive more outside the area should open the ARHUR Smith manager’s effort to change the Steelers style in 2025.
Going from Iowa to Pittsburgh in AFC North keeps Johnson in the Smashmouth environment, one third player.
“It’s really grateful because I feel like it is related to the big 10 and what I played in,” he said. “So, I feel like I’m really used to Smashmouth, you know, run the ball football. I’m really excited to get to work and really excited to be part of this organization.
Johnson’s power and ability in the team’s game gives him three down upside down in the NFL. In 2025 he will interfere with Jaylen Warren and give Smith a more versatile back than and worked with last year.
