A good old-fashioned NFC North rivalry game awaits the Packers and Vikings in Week 1.
The Packers, who lead 67-61-3, will travel to Minnesota for game No.
Green Bay will have waited a long, long time to wash off the stench of the 2025 season conclusion, having lost five straight to finish the campaign, ending up blowing an 18-point halftime lead to the Bears in the Wild Card round.
It is not known how close to a running back mission Micah Parsons or tight end Tucker Kraft will be from each of their ACL tears, but Jordan Love will work with a more focused wide receiver corps Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden after the day’s departures Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks thinned out a little in the room.
All eyes on the Vikings will be on who lines up under center. Will JJ McCarthy overcome newfound competition to begin a season of redemption after struggling in his first year as the team’s starter, or will the rookie Kyle Murray win the job and be looking to turn Minnesota’s fortunes around.
Coincidentally, the Vikings finished their season opposite the Packers on a five-game winning streak, though struggles earlier in the year resulted in them missing the playoffs.
Whichever team gets off on the right foot in Minneapolis will have the first game in the NFC North.
