Major League Soccer today opened the voting process for the 2023 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, which includes player, fan and media participation. The 2023 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target will be played on Wednesday, July 19 and features the MLS All-Star Team taking on Arsenal FC, the legendary 13-time English champions, at Audi Field, home of DC United.

Inter Miami CF will be hoping to add a third member to the club’s All-Star roster, as midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro has represented Inter Miami in the 2021 MLS All-Star Game and defender DeAndre Yedlin was selected for the 2022 MLS All-Star Game. Fans can cast their vote now at MLSsoccer.com/all-star/2023/vote/fan-vote or through the MLS app.

As part of the voting process, MLS reviewed performance statistics from the current season to rank players into their most utilized positions. Players will be selected for seven specific positions: Goalkeeper, Right Back, Center Back, Left Back, Defensive Midfielder, Attacking Midfielder and Striker/Winger.

Of the 26 MLS players selected for the All-Star Game, the breakdown is as follows:

The 12 players will be determined by voting by MLS players, fans and media. Each of the three voting groups has a third of the combined votes. 12 players will be selected by MLS All-Star head coach Wayne Rooney of the host team, DC United. Two players will be selected by MLS Commissioner Don Garber.

Players, fans and media will vote for 11 players in a 4-1-2-3 formation: one goalkeeper, one right-back, two centre-backs, one left-back, one defensive midfielder, two attacking midfielders and three forwards/wingers. . The top players from each position from the combined vote will be named All-Stars. The twelfth player selected will be the player who received the second most total votes.

To be eligible, players must have attended at least 50 percent of their club’s games this season by the time the ballot was created on May 18. head coach Wayne Rooney or manager Garber.

Fan voting began today, Wednesday, May 31, at 12:00 PM ET and will end at 11:59 PM PT on Wednesday, June 14. All fans can vote at MLSsoccer.com/all-star/2023/vote/fan-vote or through the MLS app, and every fan has a unique opportunity to share their choice on social media.

Every player from each of the 29 MLS clubs will receive a unique link to vote for their peers. The approximately 500 members of the media who regularly cover MLS will also elect MLS representatives.

The MLS All-Star Game presented by Target and the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T 5G at Audi Field will be available to watch in more than 100 countries and territories in English, Spanish and French on the MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. Fans can subscribe to the MLS Season Pass now through the Apple TV app on Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, consoles and on the web at tv.apple.com.
