Dalton spent the last two years in Carolina and appeared in nine games (six start) as both a copy placed in surgery and the starting team instead of former Bryce Young’s first boss. After two rough outing for Young were starting 2024, coach Dave Canales stood for the second year pedestrian in favor of Dalton, who started five beginnings in 2024.
He started strongly, but before long it became clear that Dalton could not save Panthers and when Dalton suffered a car accident injury, Young returned to the playing system. The younger pedestrian took off from there and recovered his seat as team manager Carolina with a strong goal in his second season.
Dalton’s return to Panthers gives them an experienced copy that can handle the job if Young cannot play and continue to offer the young starting team. At the age of 37, it made sense in the TCU product to be in a place he gets to know well.
